There are quite a few Asians in El Salvador - mostly Koreans and Taiwanese - and not all are wealthy so we aren't automatically targets. I think we may not be well loved since many maquillas are owned by Koreans who don't always pay well or treat their employees well and I think many are bad tippers. I've lived there for two years now and have never had a problem (knock on wood). However, all the stories and news about violence kinda makes me nervous about bringing her.
